Bronski Beat

Bronski Beat were a British synthpop trio formed in 1983 by Steve Bronski, Larry Steinbachek, and Jimmy Somerville. Their music combined synth-driven dance-pop and electronic production with Somerville's distinctive high-register vocals, and the band was notable for foregrounding LGBT themes and political subjects in their lyrics. Somerville left in the mid-1980s and the group continued with other singers until disbanding in 1995.
