Boards of Canada

Boards of Canada are a Scottish electronic music duo formed in 1986 by brothers Michael Sandison and Marcus Eoin. Their work blends ambient, downtempo and IDM elements and is characterized by warm analog synth textures, tape-like warble and melodic loops that often evoke a sense of nostalgia. They frequently use found sounds, field recordings and samples from educational and broadcast material, and favor analog production techniques and careful attention to texture and atmosphere.
