Blind Alfred Reed

Blind Alfred Reed was an American Appalachian singer and fiddler whose music combined old-time string instrumentation with plainspoken, often moralistic and topical lyrics. Blind from an early age, he recorded in the late 1920s and is remembered for a direct vocal delivery paired with simple fiddle accompaniment that reflects early country and folk traditions.
