Black Star

Black Star is an American hip hop duo formed in 1997 by Mos Def (also known as Yasiin Bey) and Talib Kweli. Their music blends boom-bap and jazz-influenced production with socially conscious, lyric-focused writing, drawing from the late 1990s New York underground hip hop scene and emphasizing lyrical interplay and thoughtful themes.
