Biz Markie

Biz Markie was an American rapper, beatboxer, DJ, and entertainer known for his playful, comedic approach to hip hop and his distinctive beatboxing and vocal delivery. Emerging in the 1980s and associated with the old-school and Golden Age scenes, he combined storytelling, humor, and party-oriented performances, often incorporating live beatboxing. He was involved in a notable legal dispute over sampling that influenced industry practices. He died in 2021.
