Bill Monroe

Bill Monroe was an American mandolin player, singer, and bandleader credited with helping develop bluegrass music. He led a band called the Blue Grass Boys and was known for a bright mandolin-led sound, high lonesome vocal style, and fast, tightly arranged instrumental interplay rooted in Appalachian string-band traditions.
