Bill Haley and His Comets

Bill Haley and His Comets were an American band formed in 1952 that played early rock and roll and rockabilly, remaining active until 1981. Their sound featured uptempo rhythms, a strong backbeat, prominent saxophone and electric guitar leads, and a blend of country, western swing, and rhythm and blues influences. They are often cited as an important act in the emergence of rock and roll and for helping bring that style to broader audiences.
