Bill Doggett

Bill Doggett was an American jazz and rhythm and blues keyboardist and bandleader known for his bluesy, groove-oriented instrumentals and prominent use of the Hammond organ. He led small combos that blended jazz, blues, and early R&B, favoring a relaxed, danceable beat and memorable organ lines. Active mainly in the mid 20th century, Doggett recorded and performed widely; he died in 1996.
