Bikini Kill

Bikini Kill is an American punk band formed in 1990 and closely associated with the riot grrrl movement. Their sound blends raw, aggressive punk rock with shouted, confrontational vocals and driving, stripped-down guitar and bass parts. The band is noted for feminist and political lyrics, a do-it-yourself approach to releasing music and organizing shows, and encouraging women to assert themselves at live performances; core members included Kathleen Hanna, Tobi Vail, Kathi Wilcox, and Billy Karren.
