Bert Jansch

Bert Jansch was a Scottish folk singer, songwriter and guitarist active from the 1960s until his death in 2011. He was known for intricate acoustic fingerstyle guitar and a repertoire that blended traditional British folk with blues and jazz inflections. Jansch recorded solo albums and collaborated with other musicians, including as a founding member of the folk-jazz group Pentangle, and his use of alternate tunings, complex picking patterns and melodic bass lines was a notable feature of his sound.
