Beat Happening

Beat Happening is an American indie pop band formed in Olympia, Washington in 1982. Their music features minimal arrangements, lo-fi production, simple melodies, and an uncluttered vocal delivery that reflects a do-it-yourself ethic. Associated with K Records and the Pacific Northwest independent scene, they are often linked with the development of indie pop and the twee movement and favored a deliberately raw, intimate sound over conventional studio polish.
