Bad Brains

Bad Brains is an American band formed in 1977 that fused hardcore punk intensity with reggae rhythms and Rastafarian themes. Centered on vocalist HR, guitarist Dr. Know, bassist Darryl Jenifer, and drummer Earl Hudson, their music combined very fast tempos and aggressive delivery with technical musicianship and occasional reggae interludes. The band is commonly associated with the development of early hardcore punk while maintaining a distinctive blend of styles.
