Arthur Russell

Arthur Russell (1951–1992) was an American cellist, composer, singer and producer who blended minimalist and experimental composition with disco, electronic and folk elements. Based in New York, he worked across the downtown avant-garde and dance scenes and recorded under project names such as Dinosaur L and Loose Joints; his work is often noted for intimate vocals, inventive cello textures and unconventional song structures.
