Angelic Upstarts

Angelic Upstarts are an English punk rock band from South Shields, formed in 1977. They play a raw, guitar-driven style that blends punk rock and Oi!, with direct, politically minded lyrics focused on working class issues. Fronted by vocalist Thomas "Mensi" Mensforth, the band became associated with left-wing and anti-fascist politics within the late 1970s and 1980s UK punk scene.
