Afrika Bambaataa & Soulsonic Force are a US hip hop group led by DJ Afrika Bambaataa that emerged in the early 1980s. They fused funk and disco rhythms with electronic production, drum machines, and synthesizers to create an electro-funk and early hip hop sound that influenced dance and electronic music, and are associated with the track 'Planet Rock' and the Universal Zulu Nation.
