Yann Tiersen

Yann Tiersen is a French composer and multi-instrumentalist whose music blends minimalist, folk, and classical elements in intimate, piano- and accordion-led arrangements. He frequently uses repetitive motifs, varied instrumentation from violin to toy piano, and sparse textures to create melancholic, cinematic soundscapes. Tiersen has composed for film and theatre, including the soundtrack to Jean-Pierre Jeunet's film Amélie, and performs both solo and with collaborators.
