Willie Colón

Willie Colón is an American trombonist, bandleader, composer and producer associated with the New York salsa movement. His music often features punchy trombone arrangements, Afro-Caribbean rhythms and urban storytelling, and he is known for long-standing collaborations with singer Héctor Lavoe and for helping shape a gritty, streetwise salsa sound that blended island traditions with New York influences.
