Wes Montgomery

Wes Montgomery was an American jazz guitarist who died in 1968. He was known for a warm, rounded tone produced by plucking with his thumb, lyrical single-note lines, frequent use of octaves and chordal blocks, and a strong focus on melodic improvisation. His approach in small-group and organ-trio settings influenced the development of modern jazz guitar technique.
