Wallace Roney

Wallace Roney was an American jazz trumpeter known for his work in post-bop and modern jazz. He was noted for a warm, focused tone, strong technical command, and harmonic sophistication, and he was closely associated with Miles Davis, who acted as a mentor early in his career. Roney led his own ensembles and performed in a style that drew on bebop and modal traditions while also engaging contemporary rhythmic and electric textures.
