Tumi and the Volume

Tumi and the Volume is a South African band fronted by rapper Tumi Molekane that blends hip hop with jazz, electronic elements, and live-band instrumentation. Their sound pairs rapped and spoken lyrics with saxophone, trumpet, bass and drums, often addressing social and political themes through poetic, reflective writing and atmospheric arrangements. Emerging from Johannesburg's scene, the group brought live instrumentation and jazz influences into a contemporary South African hip hop context.
