The Wailers Band

The Wailers Band, formed in Jamaica in 1981, emerged from musicians who had been associated with Bob Marley and continued performing and recording in a roots reggae style. Their sound emphasizes strong, melodic bass lines, steady one-drop and rockers rhythms, rhythmic guitar skank and organ textures, with vocal harmonies rooted in Jamaican vocal traditions. The group has been known for carrying forward the musical arrangements and live performance approach associated with the Wailers name while producing its own recordings and tours.
