The Tough Alliance

The Tough Alliance was a Swedish indie pop duo active from 2001 to 2009, formed by Eric Berglund and Henning Fürst. They combined synth-driven, lo-fi production and sampling with pop songcraft, often pairing bright electronic arrangements and drum machine rhythms with restrained, intimate vocals and playful nautical or youthful imagery. Associated with the Swedish indie label Service, their style was part of the broader 2000s Swedish indie electronic scene, and the members went on to other musical projects after the group disbanded.
