The Soft Boys

The Soft Boys were an English rock band from Cambridge active from 1976 to 1981, led by singer-songwriter Robyn Hitchcock. Their music combined 1960s-style psychedelia with pub rock and punk energy, featuring jangly, guitar-driven arrangements and eccentric, literate lyrics. Their 1980 album Underwater Moonlight is associated with early neo-psychedelia and jangle pop, and the band is often mentioned in accounts of late 1970s alternative British music.
