The Necks

The Necks are an Australian trio formed in 1987, comprising pianist Chris Abrahams, bassist Lloyd Swanton, and drummer Tony Buck. They specialize in extended, largely improvised pieces that unfold slowly with repetitive motifs, blending elements of jazz, ambient, and experimental music to create minimalist, hypnotic soundscapes often presented as long single-track performances or albums that emphasize gradual development and group interplay.
