The Intruders
The Intruders, an American vocal group formed in 1960 and active through 1984, were a foundational part of the early Philadelphia soul scene, blending doo-wop vocal harmonies with R&B grooves and fuller orchestral arrangements. Working with producers Kenny Gamble and Leon Huff, their sound emphasized warm lead vocals, close harmonies, and lush string and horn touches that helped bridge 1960s vocal group traditions with the smoother production styles that became associated with Philadelphia soul.
