The Divine Comedy

The Divine Comedy is a British band formed in 1991 and led by singer-songwriter Neil Hannon. Their music draws on chamber pop and baroque pop, often featuring orchestral arrangements, strings and brass, and a literate, theatrical lyrical style. Hannon's crooning voice and wry, often romantic lyrics combine melodic pop with classical touches and theatrical flair, characteristics that have defined the band's sound since the early 1990s.
