The D.O.C.

The D.O.C. is an American rapper and songwriter from Texas who emerged from the late 1980s hip hop scene. He moved from a regional Dallas crew to work in Los Angeles with producers including Dr. Dre, contributing both vocal performances and songwriting to early West Coast hip hop projects. His style combined rapid, articulate delivery with dense lyricism, and he is known for solo work as well as behind-the-scenes writing. A serious car accident in the late 1980s severely damaged his vocal cords and affected his subsequent recording voice and career trajectory.
