The Coup

The Coup is an American hip hop group from Oakland, formed in 1992 and led by vocalist and lyricist Boots Riley. Their music blends politically charged, leftist lyrical themes with funk- and soul-influenced production, often incorporating live instrumentation and turntablism from DJ Pam the Funkstress.
