The Chieftains

The Chieftains, formed in Ireland in 1962, are a traditional Irish folk ensemble known for instrumental arrangements of jigs, reels and airs that foreground instruments such as uilleann pipes, tin whistle, fiddle, bodhrán and harp. Over a long career they have explored both pure traditional repertoire and cross-genre collaborations, helping introduce Irish traditional music to audiences beyond Ireland while maintaining a focus on authentic instrumental craft.
