The Black Keys

The Black Keys are an American rock duo formed in 2001 in Akron, Ohio, featuring guitarist and vocalist Dan Auerbach and drummer Patrick Carney. Their sound blends blues rock and garage rock with raw, riff-driven guitar and driving drums, and their production has evolved from lo-fi, stripped-down recordings to fuller arrangements that draw on soul and indie rock influences. They are noted for a gritty, vintage-influenced aesthetic and the compact guitar-and-drums interplay that defines much of their music.
