Sunn O))) is an American drone metal band formed in 1998 by guitarists Stephen O'Malley and Greg Anderson. They are known for extremely slow, sustained guitar drones, heavy emphasis on low frequencies, dense amplification and feedback, and minimalist, texture-focused compositions, and their live performances are often loud and theatrical, favoring atmosphere over conventional song structures.
