Slave

Slave was an American funk band formed in 1975 and active through 1996. They played groove-oriented, danceable funk characterized by prominent horn arrangements, tight rhythm sections, and strong bass and percussion, blending elements of soul and R&B. The group operated as a collective with a changing lineup and was part of the broader late 1970s and early 1980s funk scene.
