Scott LaFaro

Scott LaFaro was an American jazz double bassist who died in 1961, noted for a melodic, highly agile approach that emphasized independence and close interplay with other musicians. He is particularly associated with his work in the Bill Evans Trio, where his responsive, conversational arco and pizzicato lines helped broaden the role of the bass in small-group jazz.
