Scientist

Scientist, born Hopeton Brown, is a Jamaican dub producer and mixing engineer known for imaginative studio mixes that emphasize reverb, delay and creative use of the mixing board. Emerging in the late 1970s and early 1980s, he worked within Jamaica's dub tradition to produce instrumental versions that transform reggae rhythms through echo, drop-outs and other studio effects, treating the studio itself as an instrument and collaborating with Jamaican musicians and producers.
