Sandy Bull

Sandy Bull was an American folk guitarist and multi-instrumentalist who blended traditional American folk with jazz, classical and non-Western influences. He often paired banjo, steel-string guitar and the oud in extended, improvisatory pieces that drew on modal and raga-like elements, producing a spacious and exploratory sound associated with the 1960s folk and experimental scenes. Bull is remembered for his eclectic instrumentation and genre-crossing approach; he died in 2001.
