Robert Tear

Robert Tear was a British tenor whose career encompassed opera, oratorio and art song. He was known for a clear, flexible lyric voice and for performances of English-language repertoire and contemporary music. He sang with major British opera companies and concert ensembles and later taught and gave masterclasses. He died in 2011.
