Rahsaan Roland Kirk

Rahsaan Roland Kirk was an American jazz multi-instrumentalist and composer known for astonishing technical feats such as playing multiple reed instruments at once and using circular breathing to create dense, polyphonic textures. Blind from childhood, he blended elements of bebop, soul jazz, blues and free improvisation, incorporated unconventional instruments and novelty sounds, and delivered exuberant, theatrical performances that bridged mainstream and avant garde approaches.
