Paco de Lucía

Paco de Lucía (died 2014) was a Spanish flamenco guitarist and composer who expanded the technical, harmonic, and rhythmic possibilities of the flamenco guitar. His playing blended traditional flamenco techniques with influences from jazz and classical music, and he collaborated with singers and instrumentalists across flamenco and jazz. He also helped introduce percussion elements like the cajón into flamenco ensembles, and his virtuosic, exploratory approach played a significant role in the development of contemporary flamenco.
