Oval

Oval is a German electronic project founded in 1991 by Markus Popp. The work is associated with experimental and glitch-oriented electronic music, using digital artifacts, microsampling, and damaged or skipping CDs as sound sources to fragment and reassemble textures. Early releases explored these techniques in abstract, often sparse compositions, while later material moved toward more melodic and software-based approaches while retaining an emphasis on processing and sonic manipulation.
