Neu!

Neu! was a German band formed in 1971 by Michael Rother and Klaus Dinger and active through 1975. Associated with the krautrock movement, their sound emphasized a steady 4/4 motorik rhythm, repetitive and minimalist guitar and synth textures, and spare production that foregrounded rhythm and atmosphere. Their work is often cited for its experimental use of repetition and studio techniques and for influencing later strands of electronic, post-punk, and alternative music.
