Moondog

Moondog, born Louis Thomas Hardin, was an American blind composer, percussionist, and street musician who became a distinctive presence in New York City. His music blended classical counterpoint, jazz-influenced rhythms, and folk elements, often written for percussion and winds and sometimes using instruments of his own design and a personal notation system. He was a notable public figure who performed in distinctive attire and is often described as a precursor to some strands of minimalism in modern composition.
