Michel Petrucciani

Michel Petrucciani was a French jazz pianist who died in 1999. He was known for a lyrical, energetic style that blended bebop phrasing, strong rhythmic drive, and melodic sensitivity. Despite a small stature resulting from osteogenesis imperfecta, he developed a commanding technique and led trios and other ensembles, composing and improvising with fluidity and harmonic sophistication.
