Luiz Gonzaga

Luiz Gonzaga (1912–1989) was a Brazilian singer, songwriter and accordionist often called the "King of Baião." He is associated with northeastern Brazilian rhythms such as baião, forró, xote and xaxado, and his music combined accordion with zabumba and triangle to evoke themes of rural life, drought and migration, helping bring regional traditions into wider Brazilian popular music.
