Les Négresses Vertes

Les Négresses Vertes were a French band formed in 1987 and active until 2001. They blended alternative rock, folk and world music with influences from Mediterranean, North African and Latin traditions, often featuring acoustic guitar, accordion, brass and lively percussion. Their sound paired theatrical, sometimes raw vocals with danceable rhythms, and they were associated with the French alternative scene of the late 1980s and 1990s.
