Laura Nyro

Laura Nyro (US, died 1997) was an American singer-songwriter and pianist whose music blended pop, soul, jazz, gospel, and Latin rhythms into piano-led compositions marked by rich harmonies, rhythmic variety, and intimate, often poetic lyrics. Her expressive vocal delivery and adventurous songcraft influenced a range of later singer-songwriters, and several of her compositions have been recorded by other artists.
