Koffi Olomidé

Koffi Olomidé is a Congolese singer, songwriter and bandleader associated with modern Congolese rumba and soukous. He formed the band Quartier Latin International and is linked with the development and popularization of the ndombolo dance sound, blending melodic rumba rhythms with energetic guitar-driven soukous arrangements. His recordings and performances commonly feature extended instrumental passages, prominent guitar and horn lines, and expressive, ornamented vocal delivery alongside choreographed stage presentation.
