Joe Lovano

Joe Lovano is an American jazz saxophonist and composer best known for his work on tenor saxophone and for occasional use of soprano and alto. His playing blends roots in bebop and post-bop with a modern, exploratory approach to improvisation, marked by a warm, flexible tone and rhythmic inventiveness. He has been active as a bandleader and collaborator, leading small groups and larger ensembles and contributing to contemporary jazz through performances, recordings, and original compositions.
