Idir

Idir was an Algerian singer-songwriter from the Kabyle region who performed largely in the Kabyle (Amazigh) language. His music blended traditional Berber folk elements with acoustic arrangements and melodic vocals, and his songs often touched on themes of cultural identity, memory, and homeland. He was a prominent figure in bringing Berber-language music to wider audiences and remained active in music until his death in 2020.
