Guem

Guem was an Algerian percussionist and composer who died in 2021. His work centered on rhythm, drawing on North African rhythmic traditions and incorporating elements of jazz and world music; he performed as a solo percussionist and in collaborations, emphasized improvisation and polyrhythms, and was active in teaching and workshops on rhythm.
