Generation X
Generation X were a British punk rock band formed in 1976 and active until 1981. Their early sound blended raw punk energy with melodic hooks and glam rock influences, and their later work showed a move toward a more polished, new wave-influenced style. The lineup included singer Billy Idol and bassist Tony James, with guitarist Bob "Derwood" Andrews and drummer Mark Laff, and they are associated with the early British punk scene; Billy Idol later pursued a solo career.
